Emerging Leaders Program (LEAP) Application Deadline September 1st! It's time to LEAP into forming a new class for the 2022 LSM Emerging Leaders Program (LEAP!) LEAP provides a series of six “experiences,” rooted in self-discovery, with a focus on leading teams and building a professional network. Nominees must have a minimum of 3 years work experience, be 21 years of age or older, and live/work in Calvert, Charles, or St.Mary’s County.
LSM's pilot LEAP program was hugely successful, impacting 24 regional emerging leaders by helping them to hone leadership skills and expand their networks among their peers. One LEAP graduate had this to say about the experience:
"I went into the Emerging Leaders Program with the expectation that I would be broadening my leadership skills to help me progress my career, but what I actually got out of this program was so much more. It was incredibly empowering to learn and grow alongside other young professionals, in all walks of life, who had the same willingness to better themselves as leaders - now LEAP is a bond that we will share for life! For me, this program was all about self-discovery and through these sessions and my peers, I gained the confidence to open my own small business and I look forward to seeing what the future holds!"
??? How can you help ???
Encourage emerging leaders in your network to attend LSM's final information session on August 19 at noon at The MIL Corporation - 46655 Expedition Drive, Suite 301, Lexington Park OR virtually via Zoom. Advance registration required. Click HERE to register.

LSM Class of 2021 Graduates Executive Program On July 22, 2021, Leadership Southern Maryland (LSM)’s Class of 2021 graduated the Executive Program with a closing session and ceremony at Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center. The 27-member class completed an extended, 11-month program comprised of monthly sessions devoted to exploring regional topics like healthcare, public safety, and education. The program, which typically spans nine months, was extended as a result of challenges and restrictions imposed by COVID-19.
The graduation ceremony featured remarks by LSM Board President Mary Beth Cook and a speech by Class of 2021 member Marsha Willaims, elected by her classmates to represent the group. At the conclusion of the event, these local mid and upper level executives were awarded certificates and celebrated the culmination of their program with board members, sponsors, and friends.
