Teen Leadership Academy

About the Teen Leadership Academy

Leadership skills are a vital part of everyday life. The Teen Leadership Academy is designed to teach and develop those skills in a hands-on, experiential program with workshops and visits to meet with regional leaders in their workplaces throughout Southern Maryland.

Typical themes –
Day 1 – Characteristics of Good Leadership
Day 2 – Leadership in Energy & Agriculture (bus trip – Farming 4 Hunger, Dominion LNG, and SMECO Solar)
Day 3 – Historical Leadership and Environmental Reach (bus trip – State House and St. Mary’s College of Maryland in St. Mary’s City, MD)
Day 4 – Foundational Leadership to take forward

All four days have amazing speakers who are leaders in the Southern Maryland region. The Teen Leadership Academy will be an amazing four days!

Who Should Apply

Teens from Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary’s counties entering grades 10, 11, 12.

Location

College of Southern Maryland, Prince Frederick Campus.

Note:  Transportation for participants will be provided to/from the CSM La Plata and CSM Leonardtown campuses to the CSM Prince Frederick Campus each day.

8 am – 5 pm daily

Tuition

Tuition for each participant is $225: Cost covers program tuition and supplies, daily lunch, transportation to/from CSM Prince Frederick from CSM La Plata and CSM Leonardtown, and transportation to places like the energy companies, Farming 4 Hunger, and historical St. Mary’s City as part of daily programming.

Tuition may be paid online below or by mailing a check to Leadership Southern Maryland, P. O. Box 524, Leonardtown, MD 20650.
