EMERGING LEADERS (LEAP) PROGRAM

Kickstart Your Collaborative Capabilities with Emerging Leaders

Whether you’re a born leader or self-made, the Leadership Southern Maryland Emerging Leaders Program (LEAP) provides a series of six “experiences,” to facilitate, foster, and refine your individual leadership understanding and abilities via structured course curriculum focused on self-discovery, teamwork, and networking.

What Does the Program Include?

The class size will be limited to 25 participants, who will be selected based on the information provided in their application or nomination. Participants must:

  • Live OR work in Calvert, Charles, or St. Mary’s County
  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Have a minimum of three years of work experience
  • Demonstrate community involvement
  • Have full support of the organization he or she represents

  • Provides an open and accepting environment for participants to grow as they build their own diverse network of colleagues

What to Expect

  • Full participation in each of the six “experiences,” generally from 8:30am until 5:00pm
  • Participation in service projects that will be completed outside of classroom hours
  • Attendance at all LEAP program sessions; those who miss more than one (1) program day (8 total hours) will be ineligible to complete the program and will forfeit their tuition

Tuition

  • Class tuition of $1,950 per participant by check or $2,150 by credit card (applicants may secure the sponsorship of a business/organization to pay the tuition)
  • Tuition may be paid online or by mailing a check to Leadership Southern Maryland, P. O. Box 524, Leonardtown, MD 20650.
  • Payment plans are available, and arrangements may be made with the LSM office.
