The latest event was hosted by the St. Mary’s County Detention Center in Leonardtown, MD, on Monday, December 12, 2016, where the Commander of the Corrections Division, Captain Mike Merican, introduced the leadership team and provided a tour of the entire facility. Upon completion of the tour, Captain Merican provided an overview of the Detention Center and fielded questions from the group.  The participants were allowed to interact with the accompanying staff throughout the tour as well as discuss the impact and challenges of the incarcerated as well as the diversity of detainees, their crimes, and their life behind bars.
